About this Pet Tech® member:
I entered the pet care industry in 2015 when I joined my partner Daryl in starting to take over the family business which was established in 1960. Prior to that I have experience working with and caring for horses with a police mounted patrol unit. I was also a 911 dispatcher where I was trained as an emergency medical dispatcher. I know first-hand that getting the right help to people in an emergency can mean living or dying. The same goes for pets but you don’t have 911 you can call because your pet is choking, injured, or not breathing. I have made it my mission to educate myself as much as I can about pet care and this industry. I believe that educating pet care providers and pet parents alike often allows us to prevent something before it happens or at least allows us to know how to quickly respond to give a pet the best possible care and outcome. I never want to see a pet care provider or pet parent be in an emergency situation with their pet and feel helpless because they don’t know what to do and don’t have someone to turn to for help and this is why I chose to become a PetTech instructor.
