About this Pet Tech® member:
I’ve been pretty dog obsessed since I got my first puppy way back in 2003 as a young adult who had always wanted a dog. From there, I learned about showing and breeding, specifically Leonbergers, giant loveable dogs. With my husband, we began Good Life Leonbergers and produced multiple show champions, therapy dogs, and more than one heart dog.
I shifted my entire career and life in 2008 when I opened a dog training business, Sit Means Sit. As our business has grown, we’ve worked with thousands of dogs and their humans. Now, many years later, teaching puppy classes is still my favorite thing. There is nothing like the curiosity and joy and frustration of raising a happy, healthy puppy and I love that I get to be a part of that for so many people.
I continue to be fascinated with dogs and I take every opportunity I can to learn more about them. I’ve attended the AKC Breeder’s Symposium and the national canine health conference, along with many other conferences and events along the way. I’m also a AKC Canine Ambassador and CGC Evaluator.
With a passion for therapy dogs, I started a metro Detroit chapter of the Go Team Therapy & Crisis Response team and have been involved with almost all of my dogs in the years since.
Outside of dogs, I enjoy reading and keeping active with yoga and weightlifting, and I’m also a published author of fiction.
By teaching Pet Tech courses, I hope to positively impact pet owners and improve the lives of their dogs.
