About this Pet Tech® member:
My name is Adriana. I have been a pet care professional for 11 years. I founded Shoreline Happy Paws – a professional dog walking and pet-sitting company in the sweltering warmth of Qatar and moved to CT in 2017 where we’ve now been freezing for 7 winters now.
Everything started at age 0 with my Boxer, Ranger – as in TX ranger. Apparently, we were best buddies, and he is the only very early childhood memory I have. (I have a memory of being at eye level with him in my baby walker, I could not have been more than 1 year old).
Sadly, one day he was robbed and disappeared. It was devastating for the family. They searched and searched for months. One day exactly a year later he walked through the gate malnourished and weak. God only knows where he had been all this time. He only came to say goodbye as he passed away just a few days after. This will always stay with me – despite me not actually remembering this part – how he was able to track his way home after a year in the conditions he was in is still mind-blowing to me.
This is truly telling of the strong connection we can build with our canine family.
Our pets enrich our lives so much and we need to enrich theirs too.
To put it into context. They are very likely to be the first creature that we interact with every single day. We wake up and take them out to potty. Then breakfast or a walk. We go to work, come back and they’re happy to see us home. Every aspect of their lives is ingrained in our daily routine, and they give us their all. All their love and joy.
They are our companions and family and as their humans, Pet First Aid & CPR is the least we could do for them. We need to be equipped with the knowledge of to help them in case of an emergency.
