I am the Education Coordinator for Kennelwood Pet Resorts in St. Louis, Missouri. I have worked with animals throughout my career and love this role that allows me to teach others about how to better care for their pets.
I graduated from college in 2000 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science. While I was in school, I volunteered with Assistance Dogs and worked at Grant’s Farm. My first full time job was at the Saint Louis Zoo with their Asian elephants. After a couple years, I went back to Grant’s Farm to work full time with their African elephants. I also edited the International Journal of the Elephant Managers Association. After seven years with the elephants, I moved to working with small exotics, mostly birds, as a Vet Tech. Next, I managed at Petco for several years and worked up to a Store Manager position. I decided to go back to the veterinary field as a Practice Manager for a little more than a year, and when a position opened at Kennelwood as a Store Manager, I started working at the Chesterfield location. I also helped open the new Kennelwood location inside of Bar K.
I am a Certified Professional Animal Care Manager through the Professional Animal Care Certification Council.
I ran my ninth marathon in the fall of 2024. I love running with my dogs. They run with me between 4 and 6 miles daily. My dogs also travel with me. My husband, Jon, and I love taking them with us on short trips.
