Dogs have been a part of my life since before I can remember. My parents began training dogs in 1990 and that quickly evolved from a side job to make extra money into a passion. Over time, they formed Woof Woof, which was solely focused on training upon its conception. In 2004, my parents decided to rent out a physical location for group courses. From there, my family began a doggie daycare program. At first, we only had one dog in daycare each day. Over the years, one dog became twenty and then thirty and then many more. About 5 years ago we moved locations and have continued to grow! We now have boarding and grooming at our facility, and have as many as 90 dogs a day at Woof Woof for a day of play! I have always been involved with our family’s business, and even helped my mom specify our online system, PetExec, to our specific needs and rewrote our current policies and procedures with her. Unfortunately, a couple of years ago, my mom became terminally ill. After about a year, she passed away. Woof Woof was always mainly my mom’s business, and with my dad having a sales job that keeps him extremely busy, Woof Woof needed new leadership. Given that now my brother, sister, and I now each are partial owners of Woof Woof alongside my dad and given all the work I had put in with my mom prior, it only made sense for me to step up as a manager of Woof Woof and help my brother, who was already managing at this time, run Woof Woof and take over the family trade of training dogs. I have made it my mission to make Woof Woof the best and safest facility it can be, so owners feel comfortable leaving their pups with us and every dog can enjoy a happy day full of playtime with furry friends, a night of boarding while their owners are away, a grooming, or a training session to work on their obedience! Part of this mission of safety was to ensure every one of our staff was trained in Pet First Aid & CPR, but when I discovered I could become certified to teach my staff myself, and spread that knowledge to our entire community, I knew the becoming a Pet Tech Instructor was the choice for me! Keeping people’s beloved pets safe is an essential part of my day-to-day life, and I am ecstatic to share how you can have the same standards and ability to provide care wherever you may go!
