The Ruff House Stay & Play, formerly known as Bayside Kennels, was started as a grooming and boarding facility in 1971. From one of the original brick ranch homes built on Virginia Beach Blvd., Bayside has been completely transformed into a state-of-the-art animal care facility! In 1984, Dr. Peter Fisher, DVM was approached by the owners of Bayside regarding an opportunity to create the present day Pet Care Veterinary Hospital located adjacent to the kennel. Ten years later, he purchased Bayside Kennels. In June 2016, Dr. Fisher sold Bayside to current owners, Maria & Patrick Nolan. Maria and Patrick rebranded Bayside Kennels to The Ruff House Stay & Play in 2022 following the opening of their second location in Chesapeake, VA.
