Training service dogs for the Patriot Paws organization led me to my love affair with dogs. I witnessed an indescribable transformation when a war wounded veteran forgot his self-consciousness and smiled through burn scars in the intimate company of his new service dog. I realized how powerful loving a dog could be! Dogs had saved me too.
I still train dogs and for the last 3+ years I have managed a pet daycare/boarding facility. Being responsible for other people’s pets made me realize that I needed to know what to do in case of an emergency! Old age, underlying medical conditions, bloat, choking, the loss of consciousness, the occasional dog fight, insect stings, freak accidents, heat exhaustion are all SOME of the emergencies that COULD happen at any time! I am now trained to address any of these emergencies! Other people’s pets are only under my care for a fraction of their day and their lives. It is imperative that pet parents know how to handle these everyday emergencies as well! Let me show you how!
