Hello, I am Tierra. I have been a professional dog groomer since around January 2021. Before that I have always had a passion for pets. I originally decided to go to IT school with the plan that I would get a good work from home job so that I could have time to open my own animal shelter. While that route never really worked for me I did end up working at a vet clinic where I trained to become a vet tech though ultimately found my passion in grooming. Now while I have seen some sad situations at the vet clinic and some accidents in my time grooming, I’m not going to lie. I didn’t have that eureka moment with one of my own pets that many have as their reason why. And I have been very lucky in that aspect. However, that has given me a drive to help others learn the tools and resources to help their pets before a need arises rather than scrambling to know how after it is too late. As a pet care professional some of the things we’ll learn in this program seem like common sense, but that isn’t the case for the majority of pet parents and I’d like to change that.
