I’m the owner and founder of Canine Moxy. My wife, Alix, is working on completing her PsyD. We just welcomed our first child in April of 2021. He spends all day with me, working with people and their dogs.
I am a disabled Army veteran and former combat medic. I have experienced, firsthand, some of the most extreme medical emergencies imaginable.
I started working with dogs after the war. I utilized my Vocational Rehabilitation benefits from the VA to go to one of the best dog training schools in the country. Since then, I have become a professional dog trainer, behaviorist, instructor, evaluator, and judge. I’ve been working with dogs professionally for over a decade in numerous capacities. For the last several years I also helped manage one of the largest veterinary clinics in Central Texas with over 30 employees on staff. I was the go-to person to handle aggressive and dangerous animals - including exotics. I have helped to safely and gently restrain and muzzle thousands of animals so they could be safely examined and treated without the animal further injuring themselves or anyone else.
I have almost two decades of combined experience in emergency medicine, veterinary assisting, and animal behavior. I became a Pet Tech Instructor because I was already offering some first aid with other services I offered but wanted to expand upon what we already had. I have seen countless pet emergencies and understand how much value there is in being able to take immediate action to save lives or minimize injury. I want to be able to share that gift with all of my clients and their dogs.
