I am excited to be sharing the knowledge of Pet CPR and First Aid so that pet parents and professionals will be better prepared for any emergency that arises with any pet.
I have been in the veterinary industry since 2006 and received my certification as a veterinary technician in Arizona in 2011. I am also an Arizona Certified CTE teacher since 2018. I teach high school students the basics of becoming a veterinary assistant and help prepare them for a future working with animals in a professional capacity.
I am currently working on specialties as a veterinary technician for behavior and nutrition. My special interests include canine training, feline medicine and holistic/alternative care.
I have six cats that range in age from 6 months to 16 years. I also share my life with two dogs: a 9 year retired racing greyhound and a 7 month old Belgian malinois. If you don’t know what a Belgian malinois is, they are the dogs that are used in police, military, narcotics and search and rescue work. They are intense dogs. I must be crazy because I would love another malinois! I also foster for the retrieved racing greyhound rescue every month and have a new dog every month!
I became certified in Pet Tech in order to help teach people how to help more pets. This is something that will help you with your own pets, your friend’s and family member’s pets, and in any business setting where you work with animals.
When I first entered the veterinary field as a veterinary assistant, I witnessed a pet that was saved through CPR after choking on a tennis ball. It was amazing to me that Isabelle was able to go home with her family, none the worse for the wear! I wanted to be able to do that! My “why” is all about the pets and the people who love them!
